Solar da Bica

This rural hotel is situated on the north side of the island in the village of São Vicente, surrounded by the ancient Laurissilva Forest.  This specific kind of forest is considered to be a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. From here, the uniqueness and natural beauty of the Laurissilva forest may be explored and prehistoric plants may be observed in a protected environment.  In addition to the experience of a privileged contact with nature, the hotel provides personalized service in a home-like atmosphere for a relaxing and comfortable stay.  There are 12 modern, fully equipped rooms in a more modern wing.  Guests can make use of the heated indoor pool, sauna and a central patio made with a centrepiece of volcanic rock flagstones.  The communal area is based around an old press, overlooking the valley and the mountains.
