This hostel is quiet, clean, and a 15 minute walk to central Reykjavik. It's great for solo females, older travelers, families, and anyone wanting to avoid the party hostel scene (although you could easily walk 10 minutes to Kex or HI Loft to meet other travelers in the bars at those hostels, and then return here to sleep in a quiet spot). The host was very friendly and helpful, the food was reasonably priced, and most important- the bathrooms and beds were very clean and the hostel was very safe.

Hostel B 47 saved my trip after a terrible experience at Bus Hostel.
I called Hostel B 47 and they were very helpful. I got promised 2 rooms. One with 6 beds and one with 8 beds. Wee paid for 10 people and was promised the rooms for our selfs and private. ❤️
The rooms were clean, nice and had toilet and shower inside.
The staff was amazing, helpful and kind.
There is god and cheap breakfast at the place. The hostel is central and wee felt safe and taken good care of!

I wasn't lucky with my bed as I didn't have any power socket nearby (others did). Other than that showers and toilets are convenient and clean. I'd come here again!

The location itself is very good, in walking distance to downtown and Hallgrims church. The hostel is a little hard to find, located in a weird (former?) office building, with the health ministry or something. The signs from the road are easily missed, the entrance is in the back. There is no vibe or atmosphere to speak of, fairly clinical.
I found the bed (dorm, upper bunk) fairly comfortable, if very squeaky.
Definitely not the best hostel I've ever stayed at, but satisfactory for one or two nights.

We lived in twin room, it was fine. Beds were comfortable and clean. There were common toalets , showers and kitchens, which also were fine. In addition, there is a luggage room where you can leave you things for free for some time. The location is great. Although I don’t think the price is reasonable I put 5 stars since everything in Iceland is so expensive.
